Cali By Julia M.

The world I first saw,

full of shinning suns, and shimmering blue-green waves.

Famous for the twenty-four hour raves.

I long for this world, as I sit, waiting for this ground to thaw.

The speaker in this poem is someone who longs for the warm and beautiful weather of California, but is stuck in cold, frozen weather. The intended audience is probably another person who wishes they were in the warmth, and has sympathy for the writer. Your attitude towards this subject seems to be whimpering because you want to be in California. I believe the theme of this poem is wherever you are on the planet, you will always long for paradise. I can totally relate to you because I am used to Florida, and this winter was very hard on me being in the cold and depressing weather of Massachusetts. Great poem!
