It only comes once a year
When it does all the children cheer
People have lots of fun
out in the summer sun.
There’s swimming and sleeping in
Beach volleyball games to win
Vacations and popsicles too,
So many things to do.
The sky is sunny and bright
The air is fresh and light
Then just like a smack in the face,
School falls back into place.

I loved your poem. It was amazing and I enjoyed reading it. It reminded me of how much I want summer to come. I can tell that you, the speaker, feels compassionate about your topic and I think that really adds to the poem. I loved the rhyming and your diction or word choice. I think the message your poem gives is to enjoy summer while you have it because the school season comes back way too fast. Good Job!
